TL;DR
A quick weekly wet comb check takes 5–10 minutes and catches infestations early. Use conditioner, a fine comb, and good light. Check behind the ears and at the nape. Make it part of the routine.
Why daily head lice checks matter
Weekly checks (daily during an outbreak) help catch lice before they multiply. Early treatment is simpler. It also reduces spread to others.
Checking for nits and head lice effectively
Wash and condition hair. Comb from roots to ends in sections. Wipe the comb on a tissue and look for lice or eggs. Focus on behind the ears and the nape. One live louse means treat. Not sure? Check first. For hands-on help, find a clinic near you.
