Privacy policy

Scan photos are processed to return your requested result. Optional training retention only happens when you choose the contribution path and confirm consent before scanning. Analytics measurement is controlled separately through cookie preferences (c15t) and is not required to use the scanner.

Data categories collected:

• Contact details (name, email, optional phone)
• Location hint (postcode/ZIP)
• Optional contextual message
• Consent metadata (timestamp, policy version)

Lead submissions are retained for up to 180 days.

Clinic owners can submit listing-claim requests. We use the submitted business email, supporting details, request metadata, and transactional verification emails only to verify listing ownership, prevent abuse, and administer the clinic directory.

Clinic claim data is not training data and is not used for scanner model improvement. Sensitive claim details such as email addresses, evidence notes, verification tokens, and private directory contact data are not sent to GA4 analytics.

School Partnership

Schools can apply for a free School Partnership parent hub. We process school name, website, location, contact name, role, and official school email to verify the application, create a public parent hub, and issue a private management link. Verification and approval emails are transactional.

Public school hubs may show the school name, city/area, an optional parent message, guidance links, and geographically relevant clinic links. Aggregate engagement counts (such as hub visits and CTA clicks) may be shown to the school via the private management link. Schools cannot see scan images, individual scan results, pupil records, or parent identities. HeadLiceChecker does not share parent or pupil data with clinics. Contact emails, verification tokens, and management tokens are not sent to GA4.

Analytics event logs are retained for up to 90 days.

Scan providers and email delivery providers act as processors to support scan inference and clinic follow-up notifications.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. GA4 is only loaded after you grant the analytics category through cookie preferences. It may collect page views, navigation paths, device and browser information, and aggregated interaction events such as scan funnel steps and directory usage.

Scan images, clinic claim emails, evidence notes, verification tokens, and other sensitive claim details are not sent to GA4. For full cookie details and opt-out links, see our Cookie Policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertising on this site. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
