Hair straighteners can kill lice they directly touch, but they miss most lice and don't kill eggs. They can burn the scalp. Use silicone- or oil-based products or wet combing instead.
Heat can kill lice, but straighteners only affect the strands you pass over. Lice and eggs are close to the scalp; you'd risk burning the skin. It's not a reliable or safe method.
Eggs are glued to the hair shaft. Straighteners would need to heat every egg — impractical and dangerous. Use a silicone- or oil-based product or wet combing. Repeat after 7–10 days. Not sure? Check first. For hands-on help, find a clinic near you.
